The Duck Story

Friend: "I was driving today and two ducks were crossing the road. I know one made it, But I think I hit the other one!"

Me: "It's okay, but I'm sure the duck that made it will send you the bill."

FACEBOOK is a Cyber-Bully.

FACEBOOK is a Cyber-Bully.
Because I have chosen not to link my profile to Facebook pages for where I work, where I live, and what my interests are, the site no longer allows me to even have said information on my profile. Meanwhile, Facebook is keeping this information for themselves and their partner sites. Facebook now has a clear stance on "Anti-Privacy,"  seeking to control your personal information to share with whoever they want to allow access. As a frequenter of many social media websites, and Facebook user for 4 years, I can honestly say that I no longer feel safe using this website as a social network. I encourage others to throughly scan your privacy settings and even consider the "deletion" (not "deactivation") of their accounts for their own online safety, privacy, and well being.

Trip to Halifax This Weekend

Saturday I will be once again hopping the 10:20 Acadian lines bus from Kentville to Halifax. I'm very excited to see some old friends and do some roaming on my old turf. This will be my solo trip to the city since the summer to go see KISS with my best friend and former roommate Christopher James Currie. I'll be staying with him for the two nights I'm in town. If you read my blog, know my cell or follow me on Twitter, send me a mesage and perhaps we will meet up. Cheers!

Walking to Loose Weight & Look Good

In the last week or so, I have taken to going for hour long power walks with my step mom. I hate most exercise, I have ever since being the asthmatic kid in my class in elementry school. Like most folks who stay up until 3AM regularly to read blogs, watch pod casts and build their own website for the heck of it, making time for exercise is hard.

On the other hand, I have always loved walking. As a 24 year old who doesn't drive, I take pride in finding alternatives to get around. Wether getting in on a carpool, hopping a bus or walking a fair distance, I don't let not having a license stop me from getting where I'm going. When I lived in Halifax, I was really good at getting out and around on my own. At one point my calves got so large they could barely fit in my pants. When I moved home from the city, I walked 2 hours back and forth from work at Staples.

Unfortunately, when I started my new job at KRRC, it was far enough away that I could not walk to the centre. On top of the distance, as a casual, I could never plan my hours to find time to exercise. But now I'm in luck, with my temp hours from 4-9 at night, my mornings are free. My step mom, affectionatly known as Kare Bear has been power walking every morning for years, and going with her gives me just the boost I need to get up and go.

As you may have seen from the pictures of myself in the colorful scarf, over the winter I developed more of a double chin. My goal is not to become muscular or skeletal (pictured), but to look slimer by summer and cut my chin count in half. I'm out weekdays from 10:30-11:30AM. Give a wave if you see me.
